Paint Tool Review: Painter's Crown Paint Tool
Invented by 30 year master painter David Bootz, the Painter's Crown paint tool is nothing short of amazing for such a simple paint tool. When faced with a large painting job, I was not looking forward to having to go out and buy the normal "extra" painting items needed for the job such as drop cloths, paint liners and disposable covers. I also needed additional brushes since the brushes from the last job were caked at the top of the brush. I also needed to buy new paint as the cans from the previous job were caked with old hardened paint - sound familiar?
I was referred to the Painter's Crown paint tool from a tips on painting article and at first look it appeared it would save me a lot of expense from getting all these other paint extras.
I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The tool fit easily over my paint can, and with 2 simple swipes across the Painter's Crown paint tool
I had a genererous amount of paint on the brush (and only on two-thirds of the brush) and there was no dripping of the paint all over the place that I was normally accustomed to. I was able to paint very quickly and without having to constantly bend over or go to the paint can from my ladder. I was actually enjoying this paint job as I didn't have to stop to clean up any drips off the floor and I didnt have paint all over my hands or arm from dripping paint.
Clean-up was very simple. A few last swipes of the brush through the Painter's Crown paint tool and all the ecess paint was back in the can where it belongs.
I removed the Painter's Crown paint tool from the can and the rim was completely clean allowing a nice clean, fit back on the can for the next use and the Painter's Crown paint tool cleaned up completely with a little soap and water
The tool is made from an aluminum alloy and is made to last forever which is why I am sure they include a lifetime guarantee on the tool. I can't see how you could possibly wear it out.
The only setback I saw with this paint tool is that the instructions mention to empty a third of the paint can into a paint tray before putting the paint tool on the can, which to me wasn't at all necessary, I could still use the tool even with a full can of paint - just couldn't fill the brush completely with paint until I had used some of it from the can.
All together, I saved probably over 2 hours on this paint job and over $30 on the paint accessories I normally would have bought to complete the job - which more than covered the cost of getting the Painter's Crown paint tool. If you're looking for a more enjoyable, cleaner and less expensive way to paint, I'd highly recommend having a Painter's Crown paint tool in your tool box
